This mezuzah case is approximately 1.25″ x 3.75″. It has a bit of a different more dimensional shape than my previous ones, which I really like. The stitchwork is done in couched silver thread (not metal work) and glass seed beads in clear and gold.
The fabric is a fantastic antiqued handwoven linen from Scarlet Letter.
I finished this one during my first week of Kohenet training. One of the reasons I love working on tiny pieces is that they are just so portable! I can carry my little case of floss, needles, and other tools and what I’m working on in my bag, and just break them out any time! I’ve also found that it’s a great conversation starter. People want to know what I’m doing and so they come up and start talking to me. I can’t think of any other activity that intrigues people as much, and is so easy to pause and chat for a while.
