Mezuzah - As Above So BelowMezuzah – As Above So Below
Dimensions: 1.5″ x 4.0″
Stitches: blanket, stem, colonial knots, straight
Artist’s Personal Collection
Mezuzah is embroidered with alapaca, cotton, and silk on linen. It’s 4″ long and about 1.5″ wide. I was trying to go for something organic, as though the Shin were a living tree with roots.

The shin is done with a whipped double stem stitch in the alpaca. The whipping is two different green silk threads. The yellow ends are cotton colonial knots.

If you look at the really big version you can see purple flowers on on arm of the “above” shin that don’t show when you are looking at it at it’s actual size.
